Ashley Ervin gave birth to two baby girls: one on August 02, 2014 (Skye Brannon) and one on September 16, 2015 (Autumn Brannon).
Savaanah Marie Harwell was born on April 1, 2015 to proud parents Dawayne and Shevaun Harwell
Kyleigh Loren Long was born January 11, 2015
Skylar G. Mynatt (Greg and Brittany's daughter) was born 2/3/15
Holly Madrey Pitts and her husband Jermaine Pitts, Sr. are the proud parents of their first child, a son, Jermaine Markee Pitts, Jr., born April 19, 2016 in Winston-Salem, NC.
Damian and Melinda Taylor are expecting the birth of their third child in August
ATHLETIC ACHIEVEMENTS
Travis LeFlore completed his first season as the youngest NCAA head Track Coach in the country and the first African American head coach at Wingate University coaching 5 All- Americans. Travis was also featured in the nationally sold HBCU calendar.

Junior Achievements
Ava Alston has a B average and participates in track. She has received numerous awards for being a team player and is also taking swimming
Holly Alston is competing in track and is a part of a group called Metro Girls that helps motivate young ladies to achieve academically. She maintained a B average and currently reads 2 to 4 books weekly.
Vincent Brannon made Honor Roll for the entire school year 2015-2016 and started a new school and was made citizen of the Month and will be attending the 4th grade this year. He also got Masters of Math facts over his entire 3rd grade class.
Montal Brooks is now in 2nd grade
Ariana Zipporah Madrey, daughter of Michael Madrey, graduated from kindergarten last year. She is in first grade and received the A-B Honor Roll and Terrific Kid awards. She also had her original artwork on display at Cross Creek Mall in Fayetteville, NC.
Jacques Montes just completed the fourth grade and has retired from playing the violin. He is now playing the alto saxophone very well. He is also on a basketball team that has gone undefeated.
Jordyn and Janae Steen will be entering 9th grade this year; Janae made honor roll.
Senior Achievements
Morgan Alston graduated from high school and is currently a junior at Tennessee University in Knoxville.
Taylor Alston graduated from Spelman and is currently living in New York and working for Chase/JPM Morgan Bank. She plays a lead role in national marketing campaigns for bank and was just selected to be on the US Open campaign
Alissha Bibbs received her bachelor of science in Health Services from Tennessee State University; she also completed an internship at Pearl Cohn High School in Nashville, TN working with pregnant and parenting teens to promote health and healthy life styles
Andrea Bibbs received a masters of business administration with a concentration in health administration from St. Xavier University. She was one of 45 applicants selected out of 150 for a graduate internship through the Institute of Diversity in Health Management, an organization whose mission is to increase the number of minorities in top management in the health care field. Andrea will be working with the Vice President of Operations at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. It is ranked as one of the top children’s hospitals in the nation by US News and World Report.
Thomas Brooks III began high school
Khyra Clark is a cheer captain, class president for two years in a row, and recipient of the Overall Eagle Award (which is the top award for a grade level). She also began her own t-shirt line in 2016 called “Kouture Khyra” collection, which has taken off very well.
James Fleming III received his masters degree from Wayne State University in December 2015.
Jasmin Fleming was accepted to Howard University in Washington, DC in Fall 2015 after graduating from University High School Academy in Southfield, MI in June 2015.
Rev. Dr. Ricky Flippin graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC with a Doctorate in Ministry in May 2014.
Jessica Tenille Harper (daughter of Sheila Giles) graduated from Southern Guilford High School, Greensboro, NC on June 4, 2016. She was also yearbook editor during the fall semester. She will be attending Winston-Salem State University in the fall where she will study nursing.

Inda Montes graduated in 2015 as Class President and has completed her first year at the university of Illinois in pre-med. In addition, Inda was recognized by the Lake County Leadership Team for her role in student council, the National Honor Society, and Drama department.

Michael Woodland’s daughter Cari made the deans list last quarter (fall) and made president list this year (spring) both from Baker College.
Michael Woodland’s youngest daughter, Michelle was inducted into the national Junior honor society this year and will be going to high school.

1. Marcus and Tracey Alston are still loving on each other after 29 years of marriage and empty nesters with a puppy named Bently.
2. Cheryl and Earl Bibbs celebrated 35 years of marriage on June 20

4. Joseph and Kendall Flippin will celebrate their 10 year wedding anniversary in December of this year, with renewed vows.
5. Margie and Vernon Love celebrate their 34th wedding anniversary on June 26.

PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS
1. Marquise Alston moved to Los Angeles and is pursuing an acting career.
2. Ashley Brannon started a new job as a lead Dental Assistant in December 2015.
3. Angelique Ervin has taken a new job at Quicken Loans
4. Joseph Flippin became pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Maryland in 2015. He continues to inspire his congregation with his bible Study outreach using innovative technology to transform lives. Kendall Flippin had been accepted to Drexel University as a Doctoral student in the Ed.D. program. She is expected to graduate in 2018 with a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and management with a concentration in creativity and innovation.

6. William Flippin, Jr. continues to assume leadership positions in the areas of social justice with several major civil and human rights organizations. In May, he won the Faith in Public Life Prophetic Preacher Award. Kedra Phillips-Flippin received the 2016 Daisy Award for excellence in nursing
7. Dr. William Flippin, Sr. received the 2015 International Trailblazer Award; Sylvia Flippin was honored as one of 100 Most Influential Women in Atlanta by Atlanta Business League
8. Henrietta Giles received an Emmy Award for documentary in 2015, “Reflect, Reclaim, and Rejoice: Preserving the Gift of Black Sacred Music” (narrated by Alfre Woodard). In addition, she graduated with a Masters Degree in journalism from Tennessee State University, and joined the faculty shortly afterwards.
9. Tyler LeFlore completed phlebotomy training hoping to find a job where she can utilize that skill. She did recently get a new job at Sprint. She is continuing her education at Oakland Community College, pursuing nursing.
10. Francine Giles Madrey is retiring from Winston-Salem State University on June 30, 2016, after 22 years of service. Unfortunately, she is not able to attend the reunion this year, as she is participating in the historic 50th-year reunion of the 1966 graduating class of Haywood County High School, Brownsville, TN. She and several of her siblings were among the first African American students to desegregate the previously all-white schools in Haywood County, Tennessee, which occurred in fall 1965, and in May 1966 she and her sister Patricia were among the four black students to ever graduate from HHS.
11. Jermaine Pitts received the Verizon Wireless Winner's Circle Award for the 5th consecutive year and continues to be recognized as a top producer in sales within his region as well as the company.
UNSUNG HEROES
1. Morgan Alston was blessed to overcome all of the health challenges from birth that required unlimited medical visits, prayers and love from family. As a 21 year-old, Morgan is majoring in therapeutic recreation and intellectual disabilities. Morgan’s family knows her heart was given and touched by God. She has patience and passion for all people.
2. Patricia Clark is a perfect example of an individual who can be called God’s angel. Daily she is by the side of someone who has limited abilities, sending cards, doing visits, making calls. She sees herself as one that just needs to do it. She takes groceries, picks up prescriptions, sends money and rarely receives or expects anything in return.
3. Herschel Giles has battled dialysis for well over 20 years. He has done it with dignity and integrity, setting an example for walking through the fire with your faith intact. He is a good role model for African American men not only within our family but the world at large.
4. Linda Sanders is recognized as an unsung hero award for overcoming a major health challenge with grace, dignity, and perseverance. She is certainly an unsung hero(ine). She never lost her faith and never blames God for her circumstances when trials come. She inspires us all.
5. Renita Maxwell Turner has persevered through a major battle of systemic lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Through it all she has maintained her faith and inspired others to make each day count – no matter where we may find ourselves.
